Xiaomi Redmi Note 8T: top performance for a competitive price

06.12.2019

Xiaomi´s latest arrival has the formidable task of succeeding the Redmi Note 7, which remains one of the best products to have come out in 2019. Positioned between the Note 7 and the Note 8 Pro, let us tell you why you should choose it.

Xiaomi has been quite a prolific manufacturer ever since it first disembarked in Europe in 2018. Its reputation as the “Chinese Apple” hasn´t stopped it from becoming the world´s number 4 smartphone provider. The goal of its CEO is clear: to make innovation accessible to everyone, and the Redmi Note 8T is another fine example of precisely that.

1st impressions

Bigger than the Chinese Note 8 model, the Xiaomi Note 8T nevertheless has a screen of the same dimensions, i.e. 6.3 inches Full HD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels), which offers an excellent display quality even with an LCD display. The device isn’t borderless (there are borders of 1 cm at the bottom, 7 mm at the top and 3.5 mm on the sides) - but at that price one can’t expect anything else. Orange is offering the smartphone in two colors: blue and grey, with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal memory.

What about photos?

For the first time in the Redmi Note series, the Redmi Note 8T comes equipped with 4 rear cameras including one 48-megapixel sensor.

So you´ll find:

  • an ultra wide-angle lens with an 8-megapixel sensor
  • a wide-angle lens with a 48-megapixel sensor
  • a macro mode camera with a 2-megapixel sensor
  • a portrait mode camera with a 2-megapixel sensor

The manufacturer thus delivers an all-round camera.

How well does the Redmi Note 8T perform?

Equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor, it is quite effective for most tasks. However, be sure not to have too many apps open in the background or it tends to slow down. Good to know: the Redmi Note 8T is not compatible with Fortnite… With its 4000 mAh battery, it easily keeps going for over twenty hours under “normal” use (as usual, it´s the camera that is the most voracious power consumer). Finally, expect it to take around 2h to fully recharge.

Some pluses

The device has an NFC chip (unlike its Chinese counterpart) which can be useful for online payments, Bluetooth pairing as well as the validation of certain digital transport tickets. It is equipped with both fingerprint and facial recognition unlocking systems. It is also delivered with an additional fast charger.

Order your Redmi Note 8T for only 165.28 euros (excl. VAT).
