Calls over WiFi and 4G

Calls over WiFi and 4G are an innovation of the existing Orange mobile network. You can benefit from this technology with a compatible smartphone and tariff plan.

Shape formulas from Shape Basic to Shape Traveller, Shape Corporate and all other tariff plans with 4G are compatible

Calls over WiFi

You benefit automatically and without additional costs of calling via WiFi if you have a compatible smartphone and tariff plan. Calling via WiFi is only possible in Belgium.
The compatible smartphones can be found here. This list will be supplemented in the future.

To be able to call via WiFi on your device, follow these steps.

Calls via WiFi are billed just like calls via the Orange mobile network. The same tariff rules apply regardless of whether the call is made via WiFi or via the mobile network. There are therefore no extra costs.

Calls over 4G (VoLTE)

If you have a compatible smartphone and tariff plan, you can automatically enjoy this technology.

  • On an IOS device : iOS 12.1.1 or more should be installed on your iPhone, and the most recent carrier settings.
  • On an Android device : The last software update has to be installed on your device.

This feature is automatically enabled.

To switch off:

  • On an IOS device: go to Settings > Mobile Data > Mobile Data options roaming on > Enable 4G Voice & Data > Data Only
  • On an Android device: Op een Android-toestel: go to Settings > Connections > Mobile networks > VoLTE calls > OFF

Calls over 4G is available on a selection of devices. You can find the list here. Additional devices will be added in the near future.
