Cookies

1. 1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that the Orange Belgium website may place on your device to adapt the website to your preferences, offer you personalized advertising and help improve the site and user experience. These text files contain numeric or alphanumeric values that include your preferences or other parameters (such as a unique identifier).

One cookie may, for example, record the language that you selected on your first visit to one of our websites or the username that you used to log in to the customer area in order to automatically fill it in on your next visit. These types of cookies save you having to perform these actions again the next time you visit one of our websites, and fall into the category of "functional cookies". They are designed to ensure that the website functions optimally and that your preferences (such as language, region and shopping cart contents) are stored and applied automatically the next time you visit one of our websites.

In addition to "functional cookies", "analytical cookies" will also be placed on your system. We strive to constantly improve our website, and use analytical cookies to help us achieve this. They enable us to see which pages of our websites are opened more frequently than others, how long each web page is viewed on average, how the visitor reached that page and how they navigate the website. This allows us to ensure that all pages are relevant and complete, and that users have an optimal experience on our website.

We also place cookies on your system for marketing purposes. The purpose of these cookies is to customize the information (advertisements) presented to you on our website, as well as on other websites that display advertisements for Orange Belgium products or services that may be of interest to you (based on your previous visits to one of the Orange Belgium websites).

These cookies belong to the "marketing cookies" category, and generally contain unique identifiers that allow Orange Belgium, as well as other third party services, to identify you when you visit another website in order to display relevant Orange Belgium advertisements.

2. When will cookies be stored on my system?

As soon as you start browsing one of our websites, all cookies (described below in this policy) are stored on your system. You grant Orange permission to use data from these cookies to tailor the website to your preferences, to provide you with personalized advertising and to improve our websites.
