Installation procedure Shape & Fix / Connected Internet
A technician will come round to install the Shape & Fix / Connected Internet service (internet and TV on cable technology). He will carry out the following tasks:
- Connect and install the modem and the TV decoder,
- Test the internet connection,
- Demonstrate the most important functionalities of the TV decoder and the Orange TV app,
- Set up Wi-Fi on one or several of your devices
Important: a TV must be available for the technician to ensure a smooth installation (if you have subscribed to TV).
What do we expect from you?
Follow these steps to determine whether you are well-prepared for the installation of Shape & Fix Basic (based on cable technology).
1. Check if there are enough sockets and (1) connection points for (2) coax (TV signal) and (3) internet (Ethernet) and that they work properly. If no coax connection is connected with your TV it is advisable to use a coax cable (type RG59) long enough to connect the network distributor with the TV decoder (see example diagram below).
- For the modem and the network distributor
- For every TV decoder
Important: You must provide the indoor wiring between the modem and the network booster and your devices. The quality of this wiring determines the proper operation of your services. If necessary consult a technician.
2. Make sure there’s enough room.
- Provide 40 x 50cm of room to mount the modem and the network distributor on the wall near where the TV cable enters your building.
- Make sure this place is clean and easily accessible for the Orange technician so he can work safely.
3. Place the devices in question in their definitive location.
- Television: a device with an HDMI connection.
- Internet: a smartphone, tablet or PC.
