Yes, the decoder is compatible with all types of home cinema systems. As standard the decoder is set to ‘Stereo’. Select the option ‘Dolby Digital’ via the menu Settings > Technics > Sound.

The Orange TV decoder is 3D compatible and compatible with 4K TVs, but at present Orange is not broadcasting any programmes in 3D or 4K yet..

Orange TV also works on an ordinary TV screen. The Orange decoder is equipped with two kinds of A/V outputs: an HDMI output for HD televisions and an analogue output (three RCA plugs: yellow/white/red) to connect older TVs.

The TV decoder has a USB port the installer can use to update the decoder.

No video recorder or external hard disk can be connected to the TV decoder. The digital TV services are copyright protected. The output signal of the TV decoder is protected by a security system preventing programmes from being recorded on an external hard disk.
