News Micro-SOC Mobile: your mobile devices protected 24/7

30/03/2026

Company mobile devices are increasingly targeted by cyberattacks. With Micro-SOC Mobile, our security analysts monitor these devices 24/7 so you can focus on your core business.

Smartphones and tablets play an increasing role at work but also provide cybercriminals with more access points to company systems. We spoke with Tom Meekers, IT Solution Architect at Orange Business, about the risks and solutions.

How are mobile devices changing the security landscape for companies?

Tom Meekers: “Studies show attacks on mobile devices rose about 30% in 2025. The growing number of devices increases risks. Mobile devices also have unique vulnerabilities. Phishing attempts are more successful on mobiles than laptops. Users pay less attention, screens are smaller, and they click suspicious links faster. We use mobiles on public Wi-Fi where criminals can intercept data more easily. There is also the misconception that Android and iOS app stores are 100% safe, yet malware appears on these closed platforms.”

How big an impact does a device’s vulnerability have?

“If an attacker takes control of a smartphone, they access not only emails and apps but also secure company applications via multi-factor authentication often used on mobiles. Mobile devices must be protected as well as laptops, desktops and servers.”

More companies are outsourcing security monitoring. Why do they do this?

“Continuous monitoring requires expertise, infrastructure and tools. Many companies can’t manage this internally as it would need a large IT team. So, they outsource to a SOC, or security operations centre, where analysts are on call 24/7 to immediately counter attacks.”

What makes Micro-SOC Mobile unique?

“Micro-SOC Mobile combines software focused on mobile security with the expertise of Orange Cyberdefense analysts. You don’t need to buy or configure software yourself. Our analysts continuously monitor alerts, assess their severity and react immediately when attacks occur.”

Is Micro-SOC Mobile only reactive?

“No, analysts also proactively search for threats using Orange Cyberdefense’s Datalake, one of the largest sources of threat intelligence in the world. When a new relevant threat emerges, we recommend protections.”

Is Micro-SOC Mobile easy to use?

“Yes, you pay a fixed monthly licence per device including technology and 24/7 service, with no limits on alerts or storage. One dashboard gives insight into alerts and our actions. It also includes other Micro-SOC modules like Micro-SOC Endpoint for laptops and desktops, so you can manage everything in one place.”

What trends do you see emerging in mobile security?

“It’s positive that companies realise the importance of securing mobile devices. AI is a major trend: we see AI-based phishing campaigns and increasingly use AI in our SOC to detect attacks. There is also a shift from protecting devices to protecting user identities with Zero Trust approaches. Users are continuously verified before accessing data or apps. The more Micro-SOC modules a customer uses, the more the system can monitor suspicious activity and protect identities.”
