How to prepare for the installation of Shape & Fix Extra?

Installation procedure Shape & Fix Extra

To ensure a smooth installation of your Shape & Fix Extra (based on VDSL technology) we ask that you observe the following instructions:

  • Determine where in the building the Proximus intro is located and where the technician has to install the new VDSL line (NTP).
  • Make sure the technician has access to these places and that he can work unhindered.

Consult our installation brochure for more details on the installation procedure. Please read it carefully.

What do we expect from you?

With every intervention please make sure that the contact person::

  • is on-site and that they are available and reachable from the moment the technician arrives until the installation is completed. The technician will call the contact person on their mobile shortly before his arrival

  • has been informed of the installation that must be performed and knows where it is to be carried out

  • has unlimited access to a PC or laptop and has the login details of the administrator

  • the VDSL router is placed as close to the Proximus access point as possible. If you want the VDSL router to be installed elsewhere, or at the location of your current XDSL modem (e.g. in a server room, a specific office, ...) you must make sure internal wiring exists between the Proximus access point and the desired location.

  • the necessary cables are installed between at least a PC or laptop and the exact location where you want the Orange router to be installed.

  • two 230V sockets are available at the location where the Orange technician has to install the router and the PBX plug (if applicable).

  • the technician has unlimited and free access to mains power.

  • the room where the technician must work is safe and hygienic.

  • can give the technician easy access to all locations where various components of the services(s) is/are located and where the technician may need to work:
    • access to the building: if applicable the necessary arrangements with security personnel must be made in advance
    • Proximus access point (intro): the exact location where the Proximus wires enter the building
    • switchboard for the internal cabling (if applicable)
    • room where the Proximus technician has installed or will install the switchboard for the VDSL line (connection point NTP2007)
    • room where the Orange technician must install the modem/router and the PBX plug if the technical solution requires it.
