5th edition Orange Fab focuses on VR, AR & metaverse

01.09.2022

Are you intrigued by virtual reality, augmented reality and the metaverse? Three start-ups selected in 2022 by Orange Belgium and Luxembourg for the Orange Fab acceleration programme have made these their speciality. Take a deep dive into innovation.

Every year, the Orange Fab jury chooses a number of promising start-ups to join its programme. In doing so, we’re aiming to stimulate innovation and forge partnerships with young technology companies so we can offer our customers especially innovative solutions.

“Thanks to Orange Fab, our solutions are ready for 5G, and we’ve concluded an important commercial partnership on the European level.” tells Sam De Smet, co-founder of OTIV, a Ghent-based start-up specialising in autonomous mobility (season 4). “By combining our IoT offer with the Orange sales force, we have laid the foundations for a long-term collaboration. What an extraordinary and enriching experience!” adds Etay Oren, CEO of CommuniThings, a Brussels-based start-up specialised in intelligent parking (season 1).

Launch of season 5

Season 5 of Orange Fab has just begun. This edition is dedicated to 5G applications based on augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR) and the metaverse. On 1 June, Orange Fab selected three start-ups to join this new season: Nirli (Wallonia), Virtual Rangers (Luxembourg) and withVR (Flanders). Our objective this year? To propose new experiences to our end customers in Belgium and Luxembourg.

The selected start-ups

Liège-based start-up Nirli offers immersive experiences in VR or AR, bringing them closer to reality in the sectors of health, construction, retail and industry.

In the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Virtual Rangers develops experiences in VR and AR, in the metaverse, designed specifically for its customers. The company puts VR at the service of professional training, events and entertainment, and applies AR to culture and buildings. Virtual Rangers recently launched the Luxembourg metaverse.

The Ghent-based start-up withVR creates customisable verbal interactions in VR to support individuals and groups who are looking for speech therapy services, want to provide services or are carrying out research in the field.
