You expect to be available everywhere on your mobile phone. But what if your mobile network coverage is less than perfect at home or work? Then you call via the Wi-Fi network. With supported phones this process is fully automatic and free of charge.

Orange is the first mobile operator in Belgium whose customers not only call in the traditional way (via the 2G or 3G network) but also via VoWiFi (Voice over Wi-Fi) or VoLTE (Voice over 4G/LTE).
These additional connection options are an asset, especially in buildings constructed to meet the latest insulation standards, because the insulation material weakens the mobile signal. 4G offers better indoor coverage. When connected to a Wi-Fi network, you automatically call via VoWiFi. This way, customers and colleagues can always contact you.
Automatic
You don’t need a separate app for VoWiFi or VoLTE: calling via 4G is set as standard and calling via Wi-Fi is easily activated via your phone settings. This is all you need to do: from then on your smartphone will automatically call over the strongest network, whether it’s the Wi-Fi network or Orange’s mobile network. VoWiFi and VoLTE are only available in Belgium.
Seamless transition
If you cross over into an area without Wi-Fi coverage during your call, your phone will switch seamlessly to 4G (VoLTE). If you cross over into an area without 4G coverage during your call, your phone will switch seamlessly to 3G/2G or Wi-Fi (VoWiFi).
No extra charge
Calls via Wi-Fi are billed in the same way as your calls via the Orange mobile network. So there are no extra charges. VoWiFi and VoLTE are available to all B2B customers whose tariff plan includes 4G.
Wide range of compatible smartphones
Orange certifies devices to guarantee a satisfactory user experience with VoWiFi and VoLTE. As a result, the list of compatible devices is growing and now includes smartphones from a variety of price categories. This means you do not need an expensive phone to be available everywhere.
High-quality network
Calling via 4G offers faster connection and superior sound quality. What’s more, you can call and simultaneously use your mobile to browse the internet at 4G speeds. In the first six months of 2019, the share of VoLTE in the total number of calls over the Orange network jumped from 20 to 29%.
