Orange supports the healthcare sector´s digital transformation with Health & Care

16.12.2019

Orange wishes to support its customers in the healthcare sector with its range of Health & Care services that bring together a host of ICT solutions. Because what counts is enabling these professionals to concentrate on what´s truly important: the health of their patients. At Orange, we have identified 4 major challenges.

1st challenge: the abundance of data

In 2020, the healthcare sector will be confronted with 50 times more data than just 10 years ago. The challenge is thus to render all of these data accessible - easily, everywhere and at all times - while assuring optimal security. With Corporate Internet, Orange guarantees to its customers a bandwidth and total security. The Security Solutions Packages make it possible to define the security rules.
Finally, thanks to the Business Everywhere offer, Orange customers can access 4G from anywhere and even deploy their own private network via the IP VPN Everywhere.

2nd challenge: efficiency first

The growing pressure on healthcare is unfortunately accompanied by a decreasing availability of personnel. Because we believe that greater efficiency demands optimisation of the IT and connectivity, Orange proposes Fixed Mobile Unification (FMU). With it, in addition to offering total network coverage thanks to signal amplification solutions, Orange enables every caller to be in contact with the right person as of the 1st call.

3rd challenge: demanding patients

To meet the ever-increasing expectations of patients, Orange proposes Enterprise Messaging and its Smart Parking solution. The former makes it possible to send appointment reminders by SMS, while the latter allows one to find a free parking space more quickly.

4th challenge: dealing with continuous evolution

Whether it involves the development of a surgical robot or the appearance of numerous e-health mobile applications, keeping yourself constantly informed of all the latest technologies becomes virtually impossible for healthcare service providers. Orange therefore puts at their disposal a team of specialised Account Managers as well as a broad ecosystem of partners in order to meet the needs of each customer.

Orange and the Magician Project

By using Orange´s NB-IoT (NarrowBand Internet of Things), imec and IDLab Antwerp wish to implement innovative IoT applications in the healthcare sector by making it possible to connect devices via the Internet of Things. Currently under development, “wearable alarming” will allow patients to remain autonomous and continue to live at home for a longer time.
